On November 24th and 25th, the Village of Gagetown held Christmas in the Village – where local artisans and shops welcome guests to do some special Christmas shopping. Photo Fredericton organized a Field Trip / Workshop and a number of us went out there and had fun shooting. While I was initially not overly excited about my photographic results from the day – I had an enjoyable time getting to know a fellow photographer. While I was editing this evening, I realized I had number of photos I was quite happy about.
The Chinese Cultural Association of New Brunswick asked me to be one of the photographers of the 2007 Spectacular stage show put on at The Playhouse on October 27th. I was honoured and happy to share my abilities, and continue to learn. The lighting and exposure was challenging, in the end I shot mainly on manual. An exposure of about f5.6 and 1/100th sec @ ISO 1600 was about average. The spot light was at about 5500K, and the other lights were about 3700K. I used my Tamron 17-50 f2.8 on my Canon 20D for most of the shots – I took along my Canon Elan 7N w 85mm f1.8 and some Fuji 800 as well. I was sitting in the front row, and a fellow Photo Club member, who was also involved in the CCANB, was in the balcony with some long lenses. My processing was to alter the RAW files for exposure and colour temp., then I processed the images for noise using Neat Image, and added some sharpening and dust removal (for some artifacts). I presented the Association with over 400 shots, but have cut it down to 63 here.
CCANB 2007 Cultural Spectacular
The local theater, The Playhouse , has a couple of side galleries that show a variety of local artists. A friend of mine works there and mentioned to me that they didn't have anyone for November. He asked me to put up a few prints, and he (an amateur photographer) was also going to put up a few as well. I chose 8 of my favourites for the show – here is a virtual version of what will go up after work on Friday Nov. 2, 2007.

Photo Fredericton went on a field trip to the McAdam, NB Railway Station. It was awesome, I loved the deteriorating interior, black and white suited it perfectly. I shot b/w film in my newly acquired Pentax 6x7, and a couple of rolls in my Canon Elan 7N.
